- Lid of box contains an inscription: "metul made. 1st year of Manyen. thing offered to Makibori shrine." Inner lid:"N. Japan. Nambu, Iwate county. Makibori village. Thing offered to Makibori shrine. Oct. 10, 12th year of Showa. Received from Okino Yacuyoshi, a friend of mine. Mr Okino received this when he visited the shrine. On phallus: "1st year of Manyen. Konse daimo-jin (a god) Minamota. In a good day of August." A woven cord holds the lid in place.
